Life is a constant struggle, no matter which part of the world we reside in, and if we can learn to struggle, we can learn to live!

Through all these years, learning, struggling and reinventing myself as I gained experience of this place called “world”… I think I’ve lost myself somewhere…

I have been busy doing everything that women are expected to do, but somehow these routine chores don’t feel worth my while. Tedious routines throw people into a dungeon from where they may find it very hard to redeem themselves. I realized I must get out of this rut and hence restarted writing along with teaching. My children were well out of their babyhood, so I had time to pursue some hobbies and interests. I tell you, women who work, raise children and run homes — aren’t less than superhumans!

Anyways, when I stepped out of my dungeon I saw that I was surrounded by the chaos of an era which was technology-driven to quite an extent. I really needed a creative pursuit to help keep my sanity because I had sacrificed almost everything to build a family and home after my marriage. So, I thought of creating a WordPress site for maintaining a blog, just like some people keep diaries, where I could scrawl about life, literature and all that fascinates me.

As the world started to shut down in March 2020 in fear of a virus spread, cyberspace seemed to emerge as a portal for people to experience social contact. More and more people gravitated towards blogging in search of finding company, hope and courage. And this is how I ended up starting a blog, and nothing has made me happier during these times.

The beauty of blogging is that it has helped me connect with fellow humans through shared experiences, it has promoted growth and creativity. I’ve found great writers here and every blog feels like a person talking to me. I appreciate how people communicate using words, and it’s a pleasure to read about everyone’s individual experience.

I’ve always been fond of writing and reading. This is what also made me a freelance writer. I’ve worked as a proofreader, writer and editor with various publishing companies. My writing interests include books, literature and health & wellness.

I believe WORDS hold an immense power if used carefully with a purpose. I love how words are put together to voice thoughts, seize memories and tell tales. In my attempt to make sense of life in this world, I’ve also done some “putting together of words” on my blog. I hope you take along something positive from here and find something that stays with you for a long time.

Happy reading. I’d love to receive feedback and comments.

  1. Dear Maria,

I really like your self-introduction as follows:

Hi I’m Maria, a freelance content strategist, an academician, and a published author.

I love reading, writing and travelling. It has been a lovely experience reading blogs here, learning and growing with fellow bloggers whom I’ve befriended. Every blog is a person talking about life, and every blog will become a legacy we’ll leave behind when we are gone.

Let’s connect as bloggers and expand our network 🙂

What an authentic, lovely and inviting first impression you have given us about yourself and the legacies of our blogging beyond our brief lifetimes!

May you have a good time spending the last days of 2020 with your beloved ones before 2021 dawns on us! And may you enjoy what the new year will bring soon!

If or when you like to enjoy some creative distractions or diversions amidst the disruptions and woes engendered by the pandemic, come over and take my blog for an extended wild ride in multiple ways. I shall be very curious about your reactions and thoughts towards the contents there.

      1. Dear Maria,

You are very welcome! I look forward to savouring your response, feedback and/or insights that you might care to divulge after you have perused some of my posts and pages.

Please be informed that you might need to use a desktop or laptop computer with a large screen to view the rich multimedia contents available for heightening your multisensory enjoyment at my blog, which could be too powerful and feature-rich for iPad, iPhone, tablet or other portable devices to handle properly or adequately.

In addition, since my blog contains advanced styling and multimedia components plus animations, it is highly recommended to read my posts and pages directly in my blog so that you will be able to see and experience all of the refined and glorious details. Hence, it is prudent to refrain from viewing my blog in the WordPress Reader, which tends to ignore or strip away some styling and formatting components, and also fails to display animations, all of which are aplenty in my posts and pages, which will look very different and even improper or amiss in the WordPress Reader.

Please enjoy your visit to my blog!
